Presidents and Pharaohs

God said to Moses, “I am who I am.”

Exodus 3:14a

When God introduces His name to Moses as “I am,” He is saying that He has always been and always will be the absolute ruler. The Pharaoh, though a formidable monarch, could never make such a claim.

Pharaohs and presidents come and go. Nations rise and fall. Elections dominate our attention and then pass. But God will have final dominion and authority, and His kingdom will last forever. This is a promise that is as relevant today as in the days of Moses.

No matter how strongly we feel about the rulers of the day, God calls us to live by His kingdom principles, covenants, responsibilities, privileges, rights, rules, ethics, covering and authority. The primary precept, under which every Kingdom Builder operates, is the authority of God.

“I am” provides the order, provision and goodness we crave for our lives and our businesses.
